Mokena Woman Attempts to Flee; Aggravated DUI

A Mokena woman stopped for traffic violations attempted to flee police. She was arrested for aggravated DUI and more.

A Mokena woman attempted to flee the scene on foot when police stopped her for traffic violations that led to charges of aggravated DUI and more.

According to the Mokena police report, Krintin Lenart, 46, of the 19400 block of S. Wolf Road, was pulled over shortly after 11 p.m. Feb. 5. for turning east without a turn signal onto Parker Road off of Wolf Road.

During the traffic stop, police said she got out of her car and ignored directives to get back in the vehicle. Stumbling, she attempted to walk away; however, police grabbed her arm. Lenart told police that she was leaving to get some medicine.

She was cuffed at the scene. Police said that while she refused to take a field sobriety test, she smelled of alcohol. A computer check showed that she was driving on a suspended license.

Lenart was taken to Will County jail and booked in. Charges pending against her are: Aggravated DUI stemming form the previous suspended license charge, DUI, operating an uninsured vehicle, driving on a suspend license, a headlight violaton and failure to use a turn signal.

Bond was set at $20,000.
