Change Stolen in Home Burglary
A glass jar with about $50 in coins was stolen from the bedroom of a house in the 11500 block of South Brightway Drive. The homeowner told Mokena Police that someone had entered the residence by prying open two rear-entry doors, damaging both, according to the report. The homeowner's bedroom had been rifled through, but nothing was missing, the report stated. His roommate, however, reported the jar of coins missing from the roommate's bedroom, the report said.
Car Window Gets Smashed at Post Game Pub
The rear window of a car parked at was reported broken. The owner, a New York resident, told police she was inside when it happened. A pellet gun or a small rock might have caused the damage, although there was no evidence of either at the scene, according to the report.

SATURDAY, AUG. 18
Tinley Park Man Rolls Stop Sign With Suspended License
An officer was performing a stop sign violation detail at the intersection of when Ryne M. Lyson, 20, of the 9000 block of Glenshire Street in Tinley Park, was charged with disobeying a traffic device and driving on a suspended license after police caught him driving through a stop sign at 20 mph at the intersection of Willow Lane and Newport Way. Lyson was transported to the Mokena Police Department for processing, and his black 2004 Ford Focus was towed and impounded. Lyson was released on $1,500 bond, and his next court date will be Sept. 12.
