MONDAY, DEC. 12

Man Asks To Be Arrested

Richard K. Oehmen, 47, of the 1900 block of Roberts Road in Wilmington, was charged with criminal trespass to property. Police said they had to physically restrain Oehmen while arresting his brother around 3:30 a.m. on an outstanding warrant. Oehmen called police almost two hours later and tried to report a stolen vehicle, but officers refused to take it until he sobered up. He then showed up at Mokena police station yelling and making “profane gestures,” police said. He left the station and came back minutes later demanding to be arrested, police said, and he was.

Broken Window

Police said someone threw a rock at the window of a restaurant in 19800 block of Wolf Road, around 8 p.m., causing a one-half to three-quarters inch hole and cracking the remaining glass. Restaurant customers said they heard the glass break, but didn’t see who caused it.

THURSDAY, DEC. 8

Texting Under the Influence

Tana L. Radowski, 45, of the 8400 block of Orchard Street in Tinley Park, was charged with leaving the scene of a property accident and improper lane usage. Police said Radowski’s car struck a sign in the intersection of 191st Street and Hickory Creek Drive, tearing and leaving part of her bumper behind, just after midnight. She was stopped by Tinley Park police, who called Mokena after Radowski admitted to hitting “something” along the way, according to the report. She was arrested on a driving under the influence charge in Tinley Park and told Mokena police she had been texting at the time of the accident.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 7

DUI In Front of Home

Jason A. Dykstra, 33, of the 19300 block of Wolf Road in Mokena, was charged with DUI, failure to yield to emergency vehicle, driving without lights and operation of insured motor vehicle. Police said they activated their lights and siren in the 19100 block of Wolf Road around 9:30 p.m. after noticing Dykstra was driving without headlights. He went nearly three blocks before come to a stop in the parking lot outside his apartment, where he failed field sobriety tests, police said.

MONDAY, DEC. 5

DUI Crash

Taylor A. Thomas, 17, of the 19400 block of 104th Avenue in Mokena, was charged with DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to reduce speed to avoid accident and property damage accident. Police said Thomas struck several mailboxes and then caused a vehicle accident in 10700 block of First Court around 2:30 p.m. and was taken to the hospital smelling of alcohol. Police said they found a marijuana pipe and an empty bottle of vodka in her purse. No other driver involved in the accident was reported injured.

Stolen Trailer

A 2012 white Stroughton semi-trailer was reported stolen from a lot in the 8400 block or 191st Street sometime between 7 p.m. Dec. 2 and 10 p.m. Dec. 4. The license plate on the 53-foot trailer is 431887ST and the vin number is 1DW1A5322CS314411, police said.
