As he caught up with the car, he ran a check on the license plate and found it had expired in July. When the officer approached the driver, identified as Daniel Brokop, 36, of the 19000 block of Wolf Road, he discovered Brokop's license was suspended and Brokop could not provide an insurance card. Brokop was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle with an expired registration, driving with a suspended license and operating an uninsured vehicle.

Pozos was arrested and charged with not having a valid safety test sticker, failure to secure a child under age 8, and driving without a license. Aguilera told officers police he had known Pozos didn't have a license and had failed the written portion of the state driver's license exam.
