SATURDAY, OCT. 8

Expired Plates Find In-State Warrant

Marc A. Thorpe, 30, of the 24400 block of South Kings Road in Crete, was arrested on an in-state warrant, said. Thorpe was stopped in the 8900 block of 191st Street around 7 p.m. after police saw he did not have a registration sticker, according to the report. A name check revealed a DuPage County warrant for failure to appear, police said. Thorpe was released on bond for the warrant and was issued a new court date.

Public Urination at Metra Station

Tony M. Dennie, 52, of the 700 block of Looney Avenue in Memphis, TN, was cited for depositing human waste in a public place, police said. Officers were speaking with Dennie regarding another incident at the downtown Mokena Metra station around 4 p.m. While Dennie was waiting for the next train, the officer saw Dennie walk towards the pay boxes and urinate on them, according to the report.

THURSDAY, OCT. 6

In-State Warrant

George H. Behning, Jr., 45, of the 1300 block of North Pleasant Drive in Round Lake Beach, was arrested on an in-state warrant, police said. Officers stopped Behning in the 10900 block of 191st Street around 9:30 a.m. after the officer saw that Behning's truck was too long for the roadway, according to the report. A name check revealed a Lake County Sheriff's Police warrant for failure to appear, carrying a bail of $75,000. Behning was then taken to Will County Jail to await transfer to Lake County.

MONDAY, OCT. 3

Loud Noises

Norman K. Liepins, 47, of the 19300 block of South Wolf Road in Mokena, was cited for having loud music coming from his apartment. Officers were called to the apartment around 11:15 p.m. Monday night and asked Liepins to turn the music down. Officers were called again at 1 a.m. Tuesday morning due to the music, according to the report. The officer was able to hear the music nearly a block away, police said.

Possession of Drug Equipment

Byron D. James, Jr., 21, of the 21100 block of Christina Drive in Matteson, was cited for possession of drug equipment, police said. Officers on patrol saw the car James was riding in commit a minor traffic violation at the intersection of Francis Road and Front Street around 8:45 p.m., according to the report.  The officer smelled burnt cannabis coming from the car. A search of the car found a blue plastic grinder with trace amounts of cannabis on it, police said. James said the grinder was his, according to the report.
