SEPT. 29

Wallet Missing From Oaks Recreation Center

A man reported his wallet stolen after it went missing while he played basketball at The Oaks, police said. The man said he left his wallet on the bleachers while he played, and he discovered it was missing afterward. He said the wallet contained an insurance check, credit cards and bank cards, a Social Security card and an Illinois identification card. The wallet and its contents were valued at more than $70. The victim also said his bank card was used later that night to make a purchase at Oberweis Dairy in Tinley Park.

The reporting officer met with Oaks staff to review the video surveillance but was unable to determine whether any of the people near the bleachers had taken the wallet.
