Police Blotter: Teens Steal Lotto Tickets and Radar Detector

MONDAY, OCT. 17

Car Burglarized

Sometime over the weekend, a pick-up parked at a business in the 18800 block of 82nd Avenue was burglarized, police said. The offender or offenders cut through a chain-link fence, entered an unlocked pick-up truck and stole a gas card, according to police reports

Criminal Damage

A resident in the 19500 block of Lancaster Drive reported someone shot his bay window with a BB or pellet gun between Oct. 13 and Oct. 16, police said.

Warrant

Kevin W. Karpus, 29, of the 19600 block of South Mokena Street in Mokena, turned himself in to Oak Forest Police on a warrant for his arrest at 12:30 p.m., police said. The warrant was issued out of the Aurora Police Department, according to the report. Karpus was released on bond.

FRIDAY, OCT. 14

Criminal Damage

A resident in the 19400 block of Kevin Avenue reported his work van had been dented sometime overnight, police said.

SUNDAY, OCT. 9

Theft

Kyle J. Henderson, 17, of the 19800 block of Kensington Court in Mokena; Ryan C. Andersen, 19, of the 700 block of Mallard Drive in New Lenox; and Tyler T. Anderson, 18, of the 19500 block of Regent Drive in Mokena, were cited for theft, resisting an officer and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, police said.

Police were called to the 19400 block of Leetrim Court regarding a car burglary at 2 a.m., according to the report. When officers arrived, three males were seen running through back yards and kept running despite being told to stop. When officers caught Henderson, an officer smelled alcohol on Henderson's breath.  Both Andersen and Anderson had admitted to drinking alcohol.

Henderson was also cited for underage possession of tobacco, police said. All three men admitted to taking Lotto tickets and a radar detector from three cars, police said.
