GMC Caps Reported Stolen

The center caps for a GMC Yukon and a GMC Sierra were reported stolen in the 9100 block of W. 191st, police said. The theft was believed to have happened between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Car Burglars Use Bank Card to Stock Up on Gas?

A car was broken into in the 11200 block of W. Lincoln Highway and a messenger bag containing a DVD player, financial documents, personal checks and a bank card were reported taken from it, police said. According to the report, the burglary happened before 11 a.m. Both front-door windows had been broken, and police could find no witnesses or video surveillance. The owner of the car said her bank had told her the card had been used that day at two gas stations in Markham, one in Harvey and one in Hammond, Ind.

Trucker Drives with Alcohol in System

Denis Mahic, 37, of Jacksonville, Fla., was arrested and charged with driving a commercial motor vehicle with alcohol in his system, police said. Mahic was stopped by police in the 19000 block of LaGrange because of a broken tail light, according to reports. Mahic's breath test registered at .134 blood alcohol content. He was taken out of service for 24 hours and released on bond pending a court date in Joliet.

Possession of Drug Equipment

Michael J. Galvan was arrested and charged with possession of drug equipment, police said. Police had received reports of a suspicious vehicle parked in the driveway in the 19600 block of Kevin Court and stopped the car in the parking lot of Berkot's. According to reports, a strong smell of burnt cannabis was coming from inside the car when police approached. Galvan, the passenger, handed over a pipe. The driver was charged with driving with an invalid license. The two were released pending a March court date.

In-state Warrant

Gerard T. Corbett, of the 12100 block of Heinecke Drive, turned himself in to Mokena police at the Front Street station on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of disorderly conduct. He was released on bond pending a Feb. 25 court date in Joliet.
