Mokena Police Reports, July 5-9

SATURDAY, JULY 9

Solicitor Complaints

Dantreon Craig, 27, of the 5000 block of West Adams Street in Chicago, was cited for soliciting without a permit and interfering with an officer, and a 16-year-old boy was cited for soliciting without a permit. Police were called to the 20100 block of Scott Street around 3:45 p.m. about solicitors. The two men were going door to door selling candy. Craig initially gave a false name, according to the report. The two were released on bond.

In-State Warrant

Mark A. Tomaska, 51, of the 10800 block of Bryant Road in Mokena, was arrested on a warrant issued by the Will County Sheriff's Office. An officer on patrol in the 9600 block of West 191st Street stopped Tomaska for pulling a trailer without a license plate just before 6 p.m. Tomaska posted bond and was released.

Burglary from Car

A man in the 19700 block of Swanberg Lane reported that someone had stolen a GPS from his car in the overnight hours. The car was left unlocked, according to the report.

Criminal Damage to Property

  • A woman in the 10900 block of Third Street said that someone had punched out the lock of her car overnight. Nothing was missing from the car, police said.
  • A man in the 19900 block of Scarth Lane reported that someone had pulled and broken off the passenger side door handle on his car sometime overnight, police said.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 6

Burglary from Motorcycle

A Chicago man reported that someone had stolen a tour pack, leather jackets, a tool kit, a helmet, and sunglasses from his motorcycle while it was parked for service in the 19100 block of Blackhawk Parkway. sometime between 9 a.m. on June 30 and 7 p.m. on July 1.

TUESDAY, JULY 5

Residential Burglary

A man in the 18800 block of Caraway Court reported that sometime between June 30 and July 4, someone had entered the home and stolen some money from the bedrooms. The victim noticed that some other items in the garage had been disturbed, but nothing else was taken, according to the report.
