Mokena Police Reports, June 17-25

SATURDAY, JUNE 25

Battery

Brittany M. Fernandez, 20, of the 5500 block of West 127th Street in Alsip, was cited for battery after police said she got involved in a fight between 2 and 3 a.m. June 25 in the 18800 block of Vanderbilt Drive, police said. Fernandez was released on a $750 I-Bond.

Drugs and Underage Drinking

Felisha R. Griffin, 18, of the 13000 block of Plainfield Street in Crestwood was cited for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, possession of drug equipment, and improper lane usage, police said. According to a police report, officers on patrol in the 19000 block of LaGrange Road around 1:30 a.m. June 25 saw a car swerving as it was about to merge on to Interstate 80 and stopped the driver on the on ramp. The officer smelled alcohol from Griffin's breath and, while Griffin was being processed, found a metal pipe with burnt cannabis residue, the report stated. Passengers Adam N. Hodorwich, 20, of the 15700 block of Lamon Avenue in Oak Forest, Jessica M. Zuffa, 18, of the 11900 block of South Laramie in Alsip and Sean M. Hillard, 17, of the 15700 block of Lamon Avenue in Oak Forest, were also cited for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. All four were released on I-Bonds.

TUESDAY, JUNE 21

Burglary?

Police were called to the 20000 block of Arbor Lane after the homeowner noticed muddy footprints in her home after returing from out of the country for nearly a month, police said. Nothing was reported missing from the home, police said.

SUNDAY, JUNE 19

Pot on the Playground

Brett R. Balding, 20, of the 19600 block of Glennell Avenue in Mokena was cited for possession of cannabis and drug equipment after being arrested on the Mokena Elementary School playground, 11244 Willowcrest Lane, at about 9 p.m. June 19, police said. Three people with him were not implicated.

SATURDAY, JUNE 18

More Drug Charges

Jonathan D. Joiner, 20, of the 20900 block of Tail Feathers, was charged with possession of cannabis under 30 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, and illegal possession of alcohol by a minor after being pulled over on the 19300 block of Schoolhouse Road, police said. Joiner was released on bond.

14 Cited at Underage Party

Fourteen people were cited for underage drinking at a party on the 10600 block of Connemara Court, police said. They are: Jacob P. Prieto, same address as the incident; Erick M. Mikrut, 19, of 19300 block of Baron Road; Archer J. Winberg, 19, of the 1700 block of Copperfield Lane in Crystal Lake; Trevor A. Popovits, 19, of the 19400 block of Foxford Lane in Mokena; Jared A Shlensky, 20, of the 12800 block of Cedar Lane in Palos Heights; Cortney A. Benson, 19, of the 1500 block of Autumncrest Court in Crystal Lake; Stephanie A. Brunetti, 19, of the 500 block of Barton Creek Drive in Lake in the Hills; Ellen B. Galloway, 18, of the 1700 block of Hartford Lane in Crystal Lake; Jeremy L. Zagrakalis, 19, of the 19500 block of Regent Drive in Mokena; Nicholas P. Facius, 19, of the 8900 block of Pebble Beach Lane in Orland Park; Daniel P. August, 18, of the 10300 block of Lindsay Lane in Mokena, and a 15-year-old juvenile.

Mikrut, Prieto, Marotta and Winberg were also cited for interfering with an officer.

FRIDAY, JUNE 17

Criminal Trespass

David M. Young, 17, of the 10300 block of O'Connell in Mokena; William J. Ward, 17, of the 20000 block of South Kohlwood Drive in Mokena; and Jake A. Zagrakalis, 17, of the 19500 block of Regent Drive in Mokena, were cited for criminal trespassing to state land after police stopped them at 10:35 p.m. June 17 on the 19300 block of 104th Avenue, police said. Young and Ward were also cited for possession of cannabis. They were released to their parents after posting bond, police said.
