Reckless Driver Leads Police on Neighborhood Chase: Police Blotter

Mokena man gets DUI, reckless driving and other traffic tickets

Thomas Moore, 27, of the 10500 block of Drew Court, was charged with reckless driving, DUI, disobeying a stop sign and speeding after he led police on a chase through the neighborhood.

According to the report, police spotted Moore speeding south on LaGrange Road and squealing the car tires while turning west on 191st Street. Police pursued while he turned left on Everett Street and then onto Willow Street. In a neighborhood where the speed limit is 25 mph, Moore was driving about 55 mph, the report said.

He turned onto Kirkstone Way, where police finally caught up to him. According to the report, Moore failed the field sobriety test. His vehicle was towed.

Driving on a Suspended License

Juan Pacheco, 26, Chicago, was stopped in his car in the 11100 block of W. LaPorte Road after police spotted a rear registration light was out. A check of his license revealed that it had been suspended and the vehicle was uninsured. He was ticketed for all three offenses.

Contempt of Court Warrant

Thomas G. Brannigan, 41, Chicago Heights, was arrested on a contempt of court warrant out of Grundy County after he called police to report a forgery. 

According to the report, Brannigan was at his store lawn care store and called police to file a complaint about a forgery there. When police arrived, a computer check of his name came back with an outstanding warrant.

Criminal damage to property and theft

Police are investigating a criminal damage to property report filed by the Mokena Park District. Staff at the park district discovered that the Coca Cola vending machine had been badly damaged and an undetermined amount of money was stolen. Police are investigating the incident.
