Two for Tuesday: Mokena Fire Protection District Trustees Sworn In
Officers remain the same, and year-end budget adjustments approved.
The Mokena Fire Protection District welcomed back two of its trustees on Tuesday.
Robert Hennessy and Craig Warning were sworn in by board president William Haas.
Because April's election was uncontested, their victories came as a surprise to no one, but it was a happy occasion for them, nonetheless. They thanked and shook hands with fellow board members and staff before resuming their seats so the new session could begin. No one made a speech.

Hennessy and Haas will remain secretary and president of the board, respectively. In his absence, Kenneth Blank was elected vice president.
Rather than go through the normal procedure of nominating and voting for candidates, a motion was made by trustee Kenneth Lenz to keep officers as they were, and the board concurred.

Budget Adjustment
As the fiscal year wanes, Fire Chief Ted Golden asked the board to make two adjustments to the budget totaling about $100,000.
The money was drawn from the district’s contingency account and used to pay overtime costs incurred after two full-time firefighters were injured this year on the job, Golden said.
The fire district covers Mokena and portions of Orland Park, Frankfort and Homer Glen.
