Underage Driver Charged with DUI after Crashing into Truck, Injuring 1

A passenger in the truck was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A man under the age of 21 was charged with driving under the influence after crashing his car into a rental truck on I-80 Monday morning.

The man, whose name has not been released, reportedly drove his Nissan SUV into a Penske rental truck as it was towing another car westbound near Wolf Road in Mokena, about 12:35 a.m., ABC7 reports.

A woman riding in the passenger seat of the truck suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and was taken to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

The man declined medical treatment on the scene, but was taken to Presence Saint Joseph. He was later charged with DUI Zero Tolerance and unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.
