With the holidays well behind us, Mokena and the Lincoln-Way area are gearing up for a slew of meetings this week, including:

  • The Mokena Village Board of Trustees. Meets Monday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. at , 11004 Carpenter St. Consent agenda items include a liquor license amendment for . See the full agenda here.
  • The Mokena School District 159 Board. Meets Wednesday, Jan. 12 at 7 p.m. at . Agenda items include a resolution on the April referendum. The full agenda can be found here. The board will also have a special (partly closed) meeting Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. at. The agenda can be viewed here.
  • The Lincoln-Way School District 210 Board. Meets Thursday, Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. at . Find the meeting agenda here.

There are a few non-meeting events as well. No, really! 

  • Christmas tree pick-up is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 11. Leave you de-tinseled tree by the curb for pick-up. More information can be found on the village's website.
  • There will be on Saturday, Jan. 15 at noon for Library Director Phyllis Jacobek, who is retiring this month. Patrons are encouraged to stop by the , 11327 195th St., for some cake and to bid farewell.
