WANTED: New Member for D159 Board of Education

John Troy's resignation leaves an open seat on the District 159 Board of Education. Interested parties should submit letters of intent or resumes to the Board no later than Aug. 8.

, the Board of Education currently has an empty seat. Without the ability to elect a new board member until the next general election, the board will appoint a member to fill Troy's seat until the public can have their pick with a vote.

Members of the Mokena community who would like to apply should submit a letter of intent or resumé no later than Wednesday, Aug. 8, to the . Interviews for the open seat will be conducted in August by the Board of Education, with final appointment coming sometime later in the month.

The person chosen to fill the seat will serve on the board until April 2013, when the general election takes place. The person chosen will be able to seek reelection during the general election.
