Rasmussen College Ribbon Cutting

Rasmussen College invites the community to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Mokena/Tinley Park campus on Friday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m.

The campus is one of 21 Rasmussen College locations across the country offering Bachelor’s and Associate’s degrees tailored to high-growth career fields. The indoor event will include a brief ceremony with light refreshments to follow. Featured speakers include Tom Slagle, CEO of Rasmussen College; Larry Walsh, Will County executive; and Joe Werner, mayor of Mokena.

Local resident Victoria Dooley will be recognized at the ceremony for her hard work and effort toward obtaining her associate’s in medical assisting degree with the presentation of a $5,000 Rasmussen College 110th Anniversary Scholarship. Dooley was one of 26 scholarship recipients named in a third announcement and chosen from nearly 1,800 applicants nationwide by the Scholarship Selection Committee. An initial group of 25 scholarship recipients was announced in May 2010, with a second round following in August.

“We are excited and privileged to begin offering opportunities on campus that will continue to uphold Rasmussen College standards of providing exceptional educational experiences,” Rasmussen College Mokena/Tinley Park Campus Director Staci Hegarty said. “The ribbon-cutting ceremony provides an opportunity for the community to celebrate with Rasmussen College faculty and staff, students, and community leaders.”
