Girls Volleyball: Behrens, Weller Lead L-W East to Milestone Victory

Lauren Behrens and Makayla Weller teamed up to lead Lincoln-Way East in a straight-sets victory over Bolingbrook on Thursday night. The victory was the 250th for the Griffins in their 11th season of varsity volleyball.

Laren Behrens supplied the offense. Makayla Weller did much of the dirty work on defense. Together, the two led the Lincoln-Way East girls volleyball team to a milestone achievement.

Lincoln-Way East defeated Bolingbrook 25-20, 25-18 in a Southwest Suburban Blue match on Thursday night. Behrens came up big at the net with 13 kills. Weller wouldn't let a ball drop behind her as she totaled 10 digs.

The victory was the 250th for the Griffins in their 11th season of varisty volleyball. Since splitting apart from Lincoln-Way Central, East has won six regionals, three sectionals and two conference titles. The Griffins are 28-7 this season.

East coach Linda Vivona has won 368 matches during her time coaching in district 210.
