School Supplies: What Mokena Intermediate Students Will Need

With Mokena area schools preparing to open their doors in just about a month's time, school supplies will soon be flying off the shelves. In case you're wondering what your kiddo needs, Patch has compiled a list, according to each school's requirements.

Fourth Grade

• 10 pocket/prong folders (assorted colors)
• 24 regular No. 2 pencils with erasers (no mechanical)
• Eight red pencils (no pens)
• 12-in ruler with metric and inch markings
• One Fiskar's pair of scissors, pointed
• One box of crayons (16- or 24-count only)
• Two large boxes of unscented Kleenex
• One pair of white-soled gym shoes to be kept at school
• One pair of shorts for physical education classes GIRLS ONLY
• Multiplication and Division flash cars
• Four highlighters (four different colors)
• TI 30XA scientific calculator
• One four-pack of black chisel point low odor dry erase markers
• One book bag
• Eight spiral notebooks (100 page count, wide ruled)
• Two packages of loose-leaf paper (wide ruled)
• One set of watercolor markers
• One set of watercolor paints
• One set of colored pencils
• Four glue sticks (white only)
• One bottle of Elmer's glue (white only)
• One roll of paper towels
• One package of wet wipes (unscented)
• Post-it notes (1.5 x 2 inches)
• One box of quart sized Zip-lock bags BOYS ONLY

Fifth Grade:

• One black Sharpie marker (permanent)
• Two highlighters

• Four glue sticks
• Two large boxes of unscented Kleenex
• One flash drive
• One pair of inexpensive ear buds
• TI 30XA scientific calculator
• One pair of white-soled gym shoes to be kept at school
• One pair of shorts for physical education classes GIRLS ONLY
• Six spiral notebooks (70-count, wide ruled, single subjects only)
• One set of watercolor markers
• One set of watercolor paints
• One set of colored pencils
• Three packages of loose leaf notebook paper, wide ruled, not spiral (per semester)
• One package of lined 3 x 5 index cards (100-count)
• Antibacterial wipes (unscented)
• One package of Post-it notes (12-count, 1 3/8 x 1 7/8)
• One zippered pencil case
• One pencil sharpener
• One four-pack of black chisel point low odor dry erase markers

Additional materials may be requested by individual teachers during the course of the school year. 

Please label all supplies with the student's name and homeroom. The school asks that you check periodically during the year to see if supplies need replenishing.
