Here is an easy way to support the Lincolnway Special Recreation Association (LWSRA) and their Special Olympics Illinois athletes.
Download a flyer at http://www.lwsra.org/funding/fundraisers/dine_in.asp and bring it with you to the Oberweis Ice Cream and Dairy store, 11310-12 West Lincoln Highway, Mokena, on Tuesday, July 31 and 30% of your purchase will be donated to the LWSRA.
The goal for this fundraiser is to keep fees affordable for LWSRA athletes to compete at Special Olympics Illinois state competitions. There are fees that LWSRA must incur to send athletes to these competitions. In order to keep these fees down, and possibly even reduce them to zero, LWSRA created fundraisers like this one. However, support is needed by YOU to attend these events in order to make them successful. Please consider supporting LWSRA Special Olympics teams and be a part of the goal of reducing state tournament fees.
LWSRA is a program of adaptive recreation for individuals with disabilities offered through a special cooperative agreement that includes Frankfort, Manhattan, Mokena, New Lenox and Peotone Park Districts. LWSRA programs are for individuals from preschool through adult who are in special education classes, sheltered workshop, or who have recreational needs not met by regular park district programs. Special populations LWSRA serves are: learning disabled, physically impaired, E.M.H., T.M.H., behavior problems, visually impaired, multiple disabilities, or those with other special needs. All attempts are made to place participants in programs according to their disability, age and peer group.
