Pant for the Pantry 5K

Old Plank Trail Community Bank will be hosting its 1st annual ‘Pant for the Pantry’ 5K race, Sunday, October 23rd. All proceeds will go to benefit the New Lenox food pantry in the bank’s continued effort to serve the community.

Currently, the New Lenox food pantry is experiencing a record level of demand each week. The pantry does not operate on tax dollars, but rather relies solely on donations. Old Plank Trail Community Bank’s ‘Pant for the Pantry’ is a collective effort to meet this demand and provide aid for those in our community who need it most.

The race starts at 8:30 a.m. and will begin at Old Plank Trail’s New Lenox location, located at 280 Veterans Parkway, near the village hall. Early registers receive $5 off the full registration fee and there is an encouraged donation of at least 2 non-perishable food items per runner. Children 14 years of age and younger can race for free with a registered adult!

The ‘Pant for the Pantry’ 5K race is an official 2011 CARA Emerging Race for the Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA). The race will adhere to CARA's Best Practices Guidelines. These guidelines ensure all participants’ safety and comfort in a road race.

 Not a runner? No problem! Drop off your donation at any of the bank’s locations in the weeks prior to the race.
