Homewood-Flossmoor broke a decade-long losing streak against the Lincoln-Way East Griffins Friday night in a close finish, 24-21.

By Ryan Fitzpatrick

For the first time since 2003, the Homewood-Flossmoor Vikings bested the 4-0, No. 4 ranked Lincoln-Way East Griffins. The final score of Friday night's homecoming game at H-F High School in Flossmoor was 24-21.

The Vikings maintain their undefeated record, now resting at 5-0. The Griffins are now 4-1.

This win comes in spite of considerable doubt, notably from the Chicago Tribune. They projected a final score of 23-20, in L-Way's favor.
