Lincoln-Way West Faces Joliet Catholic in Quarterfinals for Class 5A Football

Lincoln-Way West wins over Kaneland by a score of 31-15 in the second round of IHSA football playoffs.

As the victors Saturday over top-seeded Kaneland, the Warriors (8-3) are headed to the Class 5A quarterfinals against Joliet Catholic (7-4). Game time will be announced Monday. For the second week in a row, the Warriors (8-3) will have the home-field advantage.  

In their first-time entrance into quarterfinals, according to a SunTimes Media report, the Warriors defense gave them an early lead in the battle against the Knights. For more details, read coverage in the SunTimes Media.  

Joliet Catholic beat Tinley Park by a score of 42-21 Saturday at Joliet.

While I am happy for West, I think it is a shame that the top story for the MOKENA Patch, is not the East game.
