Youth Softball: Mokena Tigers Roar to Pinto Division Crown

Solid defense coupled with timely hitting enabled the Mokena Tigers to edge the Sun Devils 3-1 in the Pinto Division championship game on June 25 at Main Park.

The Tigers allowed one run in three playoff games and captured the Pinto Division softball championship on a damp night at Main Park. In the title game on June 25, the Tigers edged the Sun Devils 3-1.

The outcome was considered a bit of an upset because the Sun Devils won the regular-season championship. The Tigers, with a record of 8-5-3, placed second.

But manager Jason Gregus said he could see the progression and steady improvement made by his girls all along the way. He is proud of what they accomplished in the end.
