Last Chance at Firecracker Dance

The fuse is lit and time is ticking down to the Mokena Lions Club's annual Firecracker Festival Dance & Sweepstakes. The dance is taking place this Saturday, July 14, from 6 p.m.-midnight in the Metra parking lot on Front Street. The event is only for adults age 21 and over.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Firecracker Dance, which will feature food, dancing and fun. The event will feature two live bands: Midlife Crisis and The Chico Smorgallees Jazz Ensemble. There will also be raffles with prizes of $5,000, $1,000 and $500, along with a bean bag tournament for those in attendance.

Tickets for the event are currently on sale for $10, or they can be purchased at the door for $15. More information about the Firecracker Dance can be found on the event's Facebook page or the Lions Club website.
