Lion's Club Firecracker Dance Set to Go Off with a Bang

The 25th annual Mokena Lion's Club Firecracker Festival Dance and Sweepstakes is set for July 14, from 8 p.m.-midnight, in the Metra parking lot.

With one summer tradition down, it's time for the next—the Mokena Lion's Club Firecracker Festival Dance & Sweepstakes. This year marks the dance's 25th anniversary and planning is already well underway for the silver anniversary of the event.

The night will kick off at 6 p.m. in the Metra parking lot, and the party won't stop until midnight. The event will feature two live bands, Midlife Crisis and The Chico Smorgallees Jazz Ensemble. There will also be food, drink and fun, including a bean bags tournament and raffles with prizes of $5,000, $1,000 and $500.

The Firecracker Dance is for adults only, and nobody under the age of 21 will be allowed entrance into the event. Tickets for the event are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
