Former Griffin Kathy Sterling Records Low Round for Louisiana-Monroe

Former Griffin and Mokena native Kathy Sterling carded the low round for the ULM Warhawks at the Mary Fossum Invitational today.

Greetings Mokena! The following is an update on former Lincoln-Way East golfer Kathy Sterling, who currently competes for the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM). - Tom Ritter

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The ULM Warhawks are in 14th place out of 16 teams after 36 holes played in the Mary Fossum Invitational, hosted by Michigan State University. ULM's stroke total is at 628 and 50 off the pace set by Purdue (288-290--578).

Sophomore Kathy Sterling posted the low round for the Warhawks, carding a three-over-par 75 in the opening round. Sterling scratched three birdies across Saturday's two rounds and sits in a tie for 50th position.

Purdue's Paula Reto (69-73), Kishi Sinha (71-71), and Texas State's Krista Puisite (71-71) are tied for the tournament lead with a 142.

The third and final round begins Sunday at 8:30 a.m. local time (7:30 a.m. Central). Live scoring will be available through golfstat.com.
