MOKENA PARK DISTRICT PROVIDES A GREAT CONCERT

MOKENA PARK DISTRCT PROVIDES A GREAT CONCERT

On Sunday evening June 10th my wife and I attended the the free Concert in the Park which featured "THE WALK-INS" at the Main Park on LaPorte Road.  The four piece band played a long list of Rock n Roll favorites from the 50's to today.  The band's lead singer is Joe Matise, the band music is provided by two guitar players and a drummer (Mike Michor, Mike Mollinets and J.R. Entsminger). They provided lively entertainment for about two hours for about 150 people in attendence.  The Mokena Park District should be commended for providing such quality entertainment for the public.  The weather cooperated for a pleasant evening.  More residents should take advantage of the free concerts.  The next planned concert is July 8 featuring Tinley Park Arts Alive! Jazz Band.

Free concerts are also provided every Thursday evening a 6:30 pm a Joliet Bicentennial Park.  Last Thursday they featured the Joliet American Legion Band and the Metropolitan Youth Symphony.  This coming Thursday they will have the Bicentennial "Pops" Band, Bicentennial Park's musical preview of "Oklahoma!" and Tinley Park Arts Alive Band.
