Lanes Closed on I-80 near New Lenox Saturday

IDOT will be taking a look at bridges on I-80 Saturday, so motorists should prepare for only one lane of traffic, and possible delays.

Heads up, drivers. I-80 will be down to one lane each direction near Route 30 in New Lenox this weekend, as the Illinois Department of Transportation inspects bridges.

Weather permitting, the check of bridges carrying I-80 eastbound and westbound over U.S. Route 30, located approximately 4 miles east of Joliet, is scheduled to occur from 5:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29.

One lane will remain open in each direction at all times. Motorists can expect significant delays during times when the lane closures are in effect and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signing in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
