Pin-in Crash Reported at Will Cook and Southwest Hwy (UPDATE)

Drivers should avoid the intersection, if possible.

Describing the crash at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 21 at Will-Cook Road and Southwest Highway, Orland Park Police Lt. Tim McCormick said the victims were all adults from Orland Park. Their names were not immediately available.

Both drivers were injured in the accident along with a passenger in the vehicle that was travelling along Southwest Highway, said McCormick.

According to the report, while attempting to turn left, a woman driving southbound on Will-Cook Road pulled out in front of a southwest bound motorist on Southwest Highway. 

A ticket was issued for failing to yield, said McCormick. The drivers and passengers involved in the accident were adults and from Orland Park residents.

Police said a ticket for failure to yield was issued.

Three people were seriously injured in a traffic accident at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 21 at Will Cook Road and Southwest Highway.

According to Orland Park Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Nick Cinquepalmi, three people were taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox with serious injuries.

One woman was extricated from the vehicle. "It took about 25 minutes to cut her out," he said.
  
Orland Park Police are investigating the accident.

Firefighters have responded to a pin-in traffic crash near Will Cook Road and Southwest Highway, according to a CINS alert. Orland Fire Protection District crews were called at about 8:30 a.m.
