"Hollywood" was the theme for the yearly Girl Scouts father-daughter dance at Lincoln-Way East Saturday night. This year's charity beneficiary was the Frankfort Township Food Pantry.

second-grader Karlie Fischer, 7, was dressed to the nines for a fun night out with her friends and with the most important man in a little girl's life—her father.

"I've had it since last year and I decided to wear it again," Fischer said of the pink dress she chose for the night out with her father Vern.

The Fischers attended the Father-Daughter Girl Scout Ball Saturday night at . The yearly event is held by various troops from Mokena Girl Scout Service Unit 741.

"My troop wanted to walk the red carpet and we just happened to get Oscar weekend," Troop 70442 leader Jen O'Dell said.

After walking the red (paper) carpet past camera-snapping paparazzi, the girls enjoyed music, dancing, food and fun.

It was the first year Rob Cebulski attended the event. Last year, his daughter Calee, 8, took her grandfather. He did know what to expect, however.

"Pretty much what you're seeing here—chaos," he said. "The girls running around and having a good time."

In total, 80 fathers squired 98 daughters to the ball, O'Dell said.

"Girls look forward to spending time with dads," she said.

It was the fourth year Mike Piltaver and his daughter Sarah, 12, a Mokena Junior High School seventh-grader went to the dance. She loves the yearly tradition, even if she said her father isn't the best dancer.

"I agree with that," Mike Piltaver said, chuckling. "I am not."

In addition to spending time with his daughter, the elder Piltaver said he likes getting together with the other fathers.

"Just the community," he said. "Just meeting new people, the old friends."

This year is special for the Girl Scouts, the group's 100th anniversary.

Troops from all three schools, from and from celebrate the anniversary by taking part in the nation-wide Friendship Circle at 7:12 p.m. March 12 at .
