Live Music, Kids Games and Fashion are Big this weekend in the L-W Area

It's the weekend and time to relax. Patch has spotlighted a variety of events going on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Lincoln-Way communities.

Friday 

Schmooze Rock Festival

The Mokena Chamber of Commerce has moved business networking beyond handing out business cards. They've arranged for two hours of pizza, pasta and live music. The band White Crow will be performing classic rock tunes from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Jenny's Steakhouse, 10160 W. 191st St. in Mokena. It's $15 a ticket. Saturday

Kids Fest 2013

Kids Fest is a free event from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. at the Village Commons, 1 Veterans Parkway in New Lenox. The day will feature jumping castles and  a petting zoo sponsored by Chiro One Wellness Centers, 1938 E. Lincoln Highway, along with touch-a-truck and a child ID station to name a few of the activities. For more information, visit the Village of New Lenox website.

Pretty in Pink Slip Gala: 5th Anniversary Celebration

Pink Slip Boutique, 18907 S. Wolf Road in Mokena, is celebrating its 5th anniversary with a "Pretty in Pink Gala" beginning at 6 p.m. with a fashion show. The fun begins at 6 p.m. with a fashion show. Tickets can be purchased for $10 online at the Pink Slip Boutique website or at the store. There will be plenty of food and beverages.

Concert on the Green

CTA, a Chicago Tribute Band, is the featured artists at Concert on the Green. The music starts at 6:30 p.m. at Breidert Green, Kansas and S. White Streets, in Frankfort.

Village Commons Concert

The Village of New Lenox presents a double concert featuring Jayme Doyle, who performs at 7 p.m. and New Lenox's own Makena Hartlin, who performs at 8 p.m. The concerts will be held at the Village Commons, 1 Veterans Parkway in New Lenox.
