What's Going on in L-Way? Ladies Night Out, LWSRA Bike the Trail

It's the weekend and time to relax.  Patch has spotlighted a variety of events going on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Lincoln-Way communities.

Friday

Ladies Night Out

Ladies Night Out is sponsored by Silver Cross for Women's Health. From 4-8 p.m. more than 45 vendors will be on-hand at the Village Commons, 1 Veterans Parkway, New Lenox. There will be mini-massages available and food samples provided by Aged to Perfection and JH Sweis.

At 8 p.m. is the showing of the popular 2008 film "Mamma Mia," starring Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan.

Back to School Bash

The 4th Annual Back to School Bash is planned from 5:30-8 p.m. for school-age children at Commissioners Park, 22108 S. 80th Ave., in Frankfort. There will be plenty of field and carnival games, music, crafts, bean bag toss, a giant inflatable along with playtime at the Splash Park and more. The entrance fee is $5. If you bring a school supply to donate, the fee is only $3. The event is sponsored by BMO-Harris Bank.

Saturday

Running with Faith 5K/10K

St. Jude Parish's Running with Faith 5K/10K. The race begins at 6:30 p.m. at St. Jude School, 251 Second Ave. To register, visit the parish office, 241 W. Second Ave., New Lenox.

LWSRA Bike the Trail

The  2013 Lincolnway Special Recreation Association Bike the Trail event begins with registration at 10 a.m. at Breidert Green, White and Kansas Streets in Frankfort. The LWSRA Bike the Trail is jointly sponsored by the Village of Frankfort and the Frankfort Park District. This event is open to the public and it offers short, medium and long bike routes. Register the day of the event or online at LWSRA.org/bike.

The fee is $10 adults - $5 (13 and under). Proceeds from this event go toward LWSRA Special Recreation programs.

Sunday

Yappy Hour at the Stray Bar

Yappy Hour begins at 2 p.m. at the Stray Bar, 17 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, is a time for owners and their furry kids to mix and mingle (and sniff) making new friends or catching up with old friends. Enjoy a "fun-raising" event and help support the dogs and cats at Lulu's Locker Rescue, 21288 Brown Drive, Frankfort.

Staff from Chew On This Barkery, 21 Ash St., Frankfort, will be onsite with something special for all the dogs!
