The Lincoln-Way High School District 210 Board of Education elected officers at its May 2 meeting and certified election results from the April 9 school board election. Arvid Johnson will continue to serve as president of the board while Jim Gast will serve as vice president and Dee Molinare will serve as secretary. “I'm honored to continue to serve the District's citizens as a member of the Board of Education--and as president during this period of transition in the District's leadership. The Board appreciates the tremendous support that the Lincoln-Way communities provide to our schools, our teachers and staff, and our kids,” stated Johnson. The newly-elected board members for Summit Hill District 161 were sworn in.
At the Summit Hill School District 161 Board of Education meeting April 30 the newly-elected board members were sworn in and officers were elected. Sworn-in and seated at the Summit Hill School District 161 Administrative Center were newly-elected board members: Rich Marron, Pam Kohlbacher, Richard Ward and Dave Faber. The terms for the former officers expired. The new officers were nominated and voted in. The board approved the following positions: President: Sean William Doyle Vice President: Rich Marron Secretary: David Faber After the new board elected officers, board members discussed a desire to possibly abolish the policy committee. Lincoln-Way North High School teacher Linda Egnatz got the surprise of her life—and a Golden Apple Award—during a visit from Golden Apple representatives May 1. Egnatz, who teaches Spanish III, Spanish IV, Spanish V, AP Language, AP Literature at Lincoln-Way North High School, was presented with a Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching in front of her students. An excited and overwhelmed Egnatz thanked the administrators, those involved in her nomination and the students. “When I see my students interacting with locals in another country, I know they are prepared,” Egnatz said in a Golden Apple press release. Last month, I went on a trip to France and Spain that was led by Señora Egnatz. While I am very competent in French, I don't speak a lick of Spanish. All of her students were very helpful in the country and they all speak of her very highly. Her students revere her. In my experiences speaking with her, she has always been very kind and is always willing to lend a hand. She deserves this!   more ›

No...The school board traditionally hosts at least one meeting each year at each of the home schools. These meetings allow the school to highlight what is going on in their building. Mr. Marron and Mr. Ward wanted all board meetings to be held at the Admin building. I would say 90% of school board meetings take place at the Admin building.   more ›
