Duran Makes Mark as Multi-Tasker at Creighton
Former Lincoln-Way East standout kicking up his heels one last time as Bluejays start men's soccer season on a roll.
Andrew Duran, a Mokena resident and Lincoln-Way East High School graduate, continues to refine a valuable life skill during his senior season playing on the men's soccer team at Creighton University. Duran, a 6-foot-1, 160-pounder who is a marketing major, splits his time between two positions for the 16th-ranked Bluejays. He is a midfielder and defender and heads into Friday's home match against Wisconsin with one goal and seven shots to his credit in five games. The Bluejays boast a record of 5-1 and have outscored their opponents 14-5. Duran is one of 12 players and six starters returning from last year's Creighton team, which finished 7-4-5 but suffered through the disappointment of seeing the Bluejays' streak of 17 straight NCAA …
