Frankfort Police Board Wants Frightened Victim to Testify against Cop

Frankfort's Fire and Police Commission wants the alleged victim of Frankfort cop Donald Walsh to testify before a disciplinary hearing, reports the Sun-Times Media.

While the courts are pursuing the criminal case against Frankfort Police Officer Donald Walsh for alleged aggravated domestic battery and burglary charges, the official disciplinary action by the Frankfort Board of Fire and Police Commissioners is seeking testimony from the victim. That may be a violation of the victim's rights. Walsh, who is accused of beating his former girlfriend in July 2012, is facing a hearing of the Fire and Police Board. Village Attorney David Silverman is seeking testimony from the victim, who fears she could be at risk if she agrees to testify. The Will County prosecutor in the case, Dave Neal, told Will County Judge Bobbi Petrungaro "he believes the village’s desire to subpoena the woman violates her rights …

Frankfort Cop Facing Felony Domestic Case Hit With New Burglary Charge

Prosecutors added a count of residential burglary to a Frankfort cop's felony domestic battery case.

A Frankfort cop charged with beating up his Mokena girlfriend was slapped with an additional count of residential burglary during his arraignment Friday morning. Donald Walsh, 29, pleaded not guilty to that charge, as well as to the counts of domestic battery and aggravated domestic battery he was already facing for allegedly attacking his girlfriend in July. Special prosecutor Dave Neal said the residential burglary charge stems from Walsh allegedly breaking into the home of his 32-year-old girlfriend with the intent to batter her. The girlfriend accused Walsh of slipping into her house while she slept in the early hours of July 25. After "verbally assaulting" her and demanding to see who she had been calling on her cell phone, the …

I have worked in law enforcement for many years and know many fine people. Sure some of them are just like you, prone to misbehavior and poor judgement, but 99% of them are fine upstanding people who are in a position in which they have to force people to follow the laws that decent society has enacted. Unfortunately, in today's world the misbehaved outnumber the well behaved. I hear that bananas…   more ›

Tinley Park Woman in Court For Allegedly Running Over Live-in Lover

The case against a Tinley Park woman charged with driving over her boyfriend will be back in court again next month.

Some women walk all over men. Christine Meyers allegedly drove over one. Meyers, 23, appeared in court for a brief hearing Thursday morning and was scheduled to return Feb. 28. The Tinley Park woman was arrested in December after an argument with her live-in boyfriend ended with her running him over with her car, police said. Meyers was charged with aggravated domestic battery in connection with the incident that allegedly left her 21-year-old boyfriend with severe burns to his chest, back and scrotum. The scrotum burns reportedly required surgery. Despite the grievous injuries supposedly suffered under Meyers' tires, the boyfriend reportedly at first told police someone else ran him over while he was crossing the street. According to a …

Tinley Park Man Charged With Beating Wife to Death Pleads Not Guilty

The Tinley Park man jailed for allegedly bashing his wife's head in with a weightlifting bar was arrested twice before on domestic battery charges.

A Tinley Park man jailed on murder charges for allegedly bashing his wife's head in with a weightlifting bar pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Friday. Bahaa Sam, 47, appeared before Judge Robert Livas via a closed circuit video feed from the Will County jail. Livas allowed the public defender's office to withdraw from the case so Palos Park attorney John Eannace could enter his appearance to represent Sam. An interpreter translated the proceedings into Arabic for Sam, who is being held in lieu of $5 million bond. Sam allegedly bludgeoned his wife, 38-year-old Nermeen Sam, to death Dec. 19, clubbing her in the head at least 10 times with a weightlifting bar. Police and paramedics went to Sam's house after a Tinley Park public works …

I can't believe how people in this society, even talk and have the time to even say things about other people its just sad to see. It does not matter what religion he was nor what race he was, the matter of the fact is that he killed his wife and now the children have to suffer for it. I believe everyone has their own opinion but I don't believe when it comes to pointing fingers at anyone and …   more ›
