Early Voting in the Lincoln-Way Communities: March 25-April 5

The Village Clerks in New Lenox, Mokena and Frankfort announce early voting dates.

Early voting for the April 9 election begins Friday. Between March 25-April 5, the village clerks in New Lenox, Mokena and Frankfort are ready to assist those who'd prefer to vote early for the April 9 election. Voters can cast a ballot at: New Lenox Village Hall, 1 Veterans Parkway Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday—8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.; Wednesday-8:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Mokena Village Hall, 11004 Carpenter St. Monday-Friday—8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Frankfort Village Hall, 432 W. Nebraska St. Monday-Friday—8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Day 1 of Early Voting Captures Crowd at Mokena Village Hall.

The Mokena Village Clerk's Office has seen a lot of traffic due to voters looking to cast their ballots.

Day one of early voting captured the attention of 122 voters at the Village Hall. Apparently the third and final presidential debate was not meant to be a deciding factor for those people who had already cast a vote for their choice of president—President Barack Obama or Gov. Mitt Romney. The final two weeks of political ads and intense coverage of the issues was lost on the 122 voters who made their way to the Village Hall to exercise their right to vote The Mokena Village Clerk's Office reported that there was a steady line of people looking to cast their ballots during the past two days. Where to Early Vote In and Around Mokena

Here's where Mokena and Mokena-area residents can cast their votes before the March 20 primary.

Want to participate in democracy, but can't make it to the polls March 20? Until March 15, registered voters can cast their ballot through early voting. To do so, just show up at one of the following offices with a current driver’s license, a state-issued ID card or another government-issued ID with a photograph. As the March 20 election is a primary, you can ask for a Republican, Democratic or non-partisan ballot. The only item on the non-partisan ballot for Mokena residents will be a referendum about electrical aggregation. If you live in Mokena village limits, you have three choices for early voting: village hall, the Will County Clerk's Office in Joliet or your township offices.
