Breaking It Down: Lincoln-Way East couldn't punch in its opening possession of the new football season, instead settling for a 35-yard field goal from William Will. But after that, the end zone become familiar territory as the Griffins scored six first-half touchdowns and took a 45-0 lead at halftime en route to a 45-14 victory over host Edwardsville on Friday night. A running clock was used in the second half, and Griffins starting quarterback Blake Winkler and many of the other starters were able to watch their teammates get an opportunity to play.
