Share Your Elf on the Shelf Hiding Spots: What Has that Elf Been Up To?

Our Patch Elf on the Shelf has gotten ahold of our computer and now wants to know what his buddy elves are up to. Share your photos here!

Hi friends! I'm the Patch Elf on the Shelf. Call me Patchy. I've heard about more of my friends hanging around the area lately, and I wondered what they were up to. Could their families post pictures here on Patch to show me? I'd love to catch up with them. We all go back to Santa on Christmas Eve, but in the meantime, we'll be watching you!  Cheers, Patchy the Elf

PHOTOS: Pink Slip Holiday Fashion Show

The Mokena boutique rang in the holiday season with style at Sunday's event.

Pink Slip Boutique hosted “The Nutcracker (Not So) Suite,” its seventh major fashion show, on Sunday at Mokena Intermediate School. The show promoted Pink Slip’s holiday and prom collections by telling the classic Christmas story of the Nutcracker with a punk rock twist and showcasing styles from casual separates to prom dresses. Dancers from Stage Door Dance Academy in Oak Forest performed and 70 volunteer models walked. Local singer Alyssa Barron served as the narrator, while a remix of the original Nutracker Suite backed the models as they flaunted the featured fashions. Pink Slip Adds Punk Rock Flair to the Holiday Season

"The Nutcracker (Not So) Suite" fashion show will ring in the holiday season with style.

This holiday season, the Nutcracker will be rocking a leather jacket, while the sugar plum fairies sport converse sneakers. Pink Slip Boutique is hosting “The Nutcracker (Not So) Suite,” its seventh major fashion show, on Sunday at Mokena Intermediate School. The show will promote Pink Slip’s holiday and prom collections by telling the classic Christmas story of the Nutcracker with a punk rock twist. The shop will present two showings of the event over the course of the afternoon and estimate that 700-800 people will attend. Boutique owner Lauren McKeague said the show will have a loud, bright, punk rock aesthetic. The styling of the event is based on McKeague’s college practicum doing window design for Macy’s while studying fashion design…

Thanks Odyssey Fun World for an enjoyable experience. My daughter and I took a ride there tonight (6pm) with my 3 grandchildren and we enjoyed the Christmas lights dancing to the music on the radio while staying nice and warm in the car. We thought there would be a ton of cars, but it was just us and 2 other cars on this saturday evening.   more ›
