Mokena Police Department reports, Jan. 25-29 • Wanted Man Turns Himself In • Identity Theft.
FRIDAY, JAN. 25 David W. Pollis Jr., 24, of the 18700 block of S. Tammy Drive, was arrested at 3:33 p.m. on the 10900 block of Front Street on an in-state warrant. Pollis turned himself in to the Mokena Police Department and posted $2,075 in cash as bond. Police issued a bond sheet and released him, pending a Feb. 26 court date in Joliet. WEDNESDAY, NOV. 7 A Mokena woman residing on the 10500 block of Camden Court reported at 7:38 p.m. that she was a victim of identity theft. The woman stated that unknown persons had opened numerous credit cards in her name and made multiple purchases without her permission for a total amount of $5,790.23. She reported that the transactions took place in Willowbrook, Conroe and Houston TX. All purchases occurred between Oct. 26 and Oct. 31, but the woman didn’t become aware of what happened until several days later. She was able to cancel all the cards. The woman also told police that the offenders set up an account in her name with JPMorgan Chase in April and made regular payments on it until recently. Four accounts were opened without …

THURSDAY, DEC. 1 A 49-year-old woman told police her credit card information had been stolen two weeks ago, causing her to close the account. However, she said, three people called her on Dec. 1 to say they had received checks from her requesting a wire transfer to India. One of the callers went ahead and wired $300 before verifying the request with the account holder, police said. The woman was advised not to give any personal information over the phone and tell anyone else to notify their local law enforcement agencies. FRIDAY, NOV. 25 Jill C.
