Sharon Michalak Appointed L-W East Principal

Michalak, who has served District 210 for decades, will begin her principal duties July 1.

The Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 Board of Education voted unanimously to appoint Dr. Sharon Michalak as the new principal of Lincoln-Way East High School at a board meeting on Dec. 13, according to a media release from the district. Michalak has served Lincoln-Way schools in several capacities throughout her career in education, including her current position as assistant superintendent of curriculum, instruction and staff development. Thursday’s decision regarding Michalak followed the announcement that District Superintendent Dr. Lawrence A. Wyllie will retire on June 28 and that current East Principal Dr. Scott Tingley will serve as his replacement. Michalak will assume principal duties at Lincoln-Way East beginning …

Scott Tingley Appointed Lincoln-Way 210 Superintendent

The principal of Lincoln Way East High School in Frankfort will succeed retiring superintendent Lawrence Wyllie.

The Lincoln-Way School District 210 Board of Education appointed Scott Tingley as the new superintendent upon the retirement of Lawrence Wyllie, who announced his decision to step down Thursday evening. Tingley, 40, has worked for Lincoln-Way for 16 years. He began his teaching career at Lincoln-Way High School in 1994, teaching business and social science. He also coached boys’ basketball in his early years. “The Board of Education believes that Dr. Tingley is the right person at the right time to lead District 210 forward – building upon not only its strong culture and tradition of success but also its core belief that ‘great is never good enough,” said Dr. Arvid C. I think the schools are top notch. it's about the process that this board operates under. You're right, no one has said anything negative about Tingley. He'll probably do fine. Excellent points, Dan. I wish there was a way to confront Dr. Wyllie on these particulars. Yours are solid and valid questions deserving addressing. Although some people may not find it "a big deal" because it was just one comment, and three little words, it speaks volumes for how this District is run and the sense of superiority and infallibility the higher-ups seems to thrive on. Supt. Lays Out Ingredients for Successful D210 High School Career

The Straight Talk sessions held by L-W Supt. Lawrence Wyllie help prepare parents of incoming freshmen for the upcoming school year as well as the entire four years of high school.

Parents with incoming freshmen received advice about the school year at the Straight Talk sessions hosted by Lincoln Way High School District 210 Supt. Lawrence Wyllie. While parents of incoming students at Lincoln-Way Central and Lincoln-Way West attended sessions last week, those who missed it can still participate Aug. 14 at Lincoln-Way East and Aug. 17 at Lincoln-Way North. During the first two sessions, Wyllie told parents, “Lincoln-Way is about kids. This is a big event in the lives of your students and families, the start of high school.
