Lincoln-Way East Griffins Celebrate Prom at Prestwick Country Club

The Lincoln-Way East Griffins stepped out in style at 2013 prom. The prom dresses this year came in a variety of styles. They featured both sleek and princess designs. They sparkled and dazzled. The gentlemen were decked in tuxedos, sporting bow ties and traditional style. Some wore hats to top off the look. The attendees danced the night away at Prestwick Country Club in Frankfort. The Patch was there to share a few of their special memories. Lincoln-Way East High School ranks among the top high schools in America, according to a ranking of public schools released Tuesday by U.S. News & World Report magazine. LW East — ranked 47th in Illinois and 1,264th in the United States — was the only south suburban high school to place in the magazine's annual report. The rankings rely on a mix of criteria, including teacher-student ratio, test scores and college readiness. U.S. News said it collected data on more than 21,000 public high schools from 49 states and the District of Columbia, excluding Nebraska, which didn't report enough data. Who is excusing behavior when you want to look right past the fact that the deans and adults in the school do not do their jobs properly?
