Lincoln-Way North High School continued its Homecoming Week tradition with its annual parade through the community on Sunday.

Lincoln-Way North High School kicked off its annual Homecoming Week on Sunday afternoon with a parade through the Frankfort Square community. Hundreds of student athletes, academic teams, marching bands, elected officials and community organizations marched. Other participants were the Frankfort Square Wildcats Football Association, the Summit Hill Junior High School Marching Band, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops and the Frankfort Jaycees. Lincoln-Way Board Talks Budget, Honors Employees

School Board meeting highlights: Destination Excellence awards, closing the fiscal year, public hearing for proposed 2012-2013 budget

The Lincoln-Way School District 210 Board of Education discussed its 2012-13 budget Thursday, closing the previous year with a $3.2 million deficit.  The main order of business was the closing of the district's 2011-2012 budget and the passage of a resolution to display the proposed 2012-2013 budget for public inspection through Sept. 11, followed by a public hearing. The board will vote on the approval of the budget on Sept. 13. The district closed its 2011-2012 budget with a deficit of $3,274,621 as of June 30. Supt. Lawrence Wyllie said the deficit was caused by a discrepancy between the amount of tax dollars and categorical grants the district was supposed to receive and the amount that was actually dispersed. Sign on the Dotted Line: 20 L-W North Student-Athletes Commit to Colleges

Find out where these teens will be going and what their plans are after they graduate from Lincoln-Way North High School.

For 20 student-athletes at Lincoln-Way North High School, April 18, 2012, will hold a special place in their hearts. As the student-athletes gathered before friends, family and school and district administrators, each formally announced where he or she would be signing a national letter of intent to participate in his or her chosen sport at the college level. The 20 Phoenix will be flying, driving or commuting to colleges across the United States, to as far away as New York City and as close as Joliet Junior College.
