A group of 3-year-olds got into the act by digging up dirt with mini shovels April 23 at Main Park, Sun-Times Media reports.
Mokena Community Park District and Village officials along with a lively group of 3-year-olds celebrated the beginning of the construction phase for a $585,000, 4,600-square-foot facility with a ribbon cutting and groundbreaking ceremony April 23 on LaPorte Road. The program center will feature a multipurpose room, two preschools and a couple of classrooms. After the park district restructured bonds for Yunker Farm, which is across the street from The Oaks Fitness Center, funds became available for the new program center, according to the Sun-Times Media. This organization is clearly the laughing stock of the south subs. Their coaches were terrible athletes during their playing days and now they beat the love of the game out of these kids. I know these coaches from seeing some of them at the gym and out and about in the community. Most of them are soft cowards. Only a couple decent guys involved in this program. The Mokena Community Park District will host a Movies in the Park event on Friday, July 27. The park district will be showing "Smurfs," rated PG, beginning at about 8:45 p.m. The event is free to the public.
Break out the popcorn, lawn chairs and blankets, it's time once again for a Movie in the Park, hosted by the Mokena Community Park District. On Friday, July 27, the park district will show “Smurfs,” starting at about 8:45 p.m. at Main Park. The event is free to attend and concessions will be available for purchase. “Smurfs,” starting Neil Patrick Harris, features a combination of live action and computer-generated animation, telling the story of what happens when the Smurfs tumble out of their magical world and end up in New York City. Maybe Park District is trying to make this building "crash" proof ! 127 Dollars a square foot!! for what? for who? and how much will taxpayers have to pay to get use of it and its programs AFTER their tax dollars built it? Maybe they can charge to take tours of gold faucets and such at $127 sq. ft. How much tax revenue DOES this park district take in? Where is their budget / checkbook on line? …   more ›
