One person is in custody after a raid at a home on Park Drive, said New Lenox Deputy Chief Bob Pawlisz. New Lenox police asked Will County Sheriff's deputies to assist in executing a search warrant connected with their case.
One person is in custody after police raided a marijuana growing operation Tuesday in Joliet. The arrest is connected to a case out of New Lenox. Authorities have not released the identity of the person in custody but charges are pending. At the request of New Lenox police, the Will County Sheriff's Office assisted in executing a search warrant Tuesday morning at a house in the 500 block of Park Drive in Joliet. Police were still at the house as of 2:30 p.m., said New Lenox Deputy Police Chief Bob Pawlisz. The warrant and investigation were based on information provided by a confidential source. Steven J. Neiheisel, 32, of New Lenox, is charged with aggravated assault, according to police.
A 32-year-old New Lenox man is accused of threatening someone with a weapon, according to a report. Steven J. Neiheisel, of the 1700 block of Nelson Road, was charged with aggravated assault on April 10, according to a New Lenox police report. Police were called at about 4:47 p.m. to the 1700 block of Nelson Road. The alleged victim was threatened with a weapon in front of numerous witnesses, according to the report. Neiheisel was arrested without incident and taking to Will County jail. Neiheisel also was arrested March 1 by New Lenox Police, according to Will County records. Richard Scott Miller, 44, is charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, police said.
A 44-year-old Matteson man has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, New Lenox police said Friday. Richard Scott Miller faces a single felony charge, authorities said. He was arrested late Thursday night Little information is being released about the incident in order to protect the victim's identity, New Lenox police said. Feeling a bit tipsy after the New Year's Eve party, why not call for a free limousine ride.
New Lenox and Mokena are among a group of five south suburbs that have joined forces with the Village of Orland Park to keep communities safe from inebriated drivers on New Year's Eve. The Village of Orland Park has offered the free Safe Ride Home Program for nearly 20 years, with Palos Heights, Mokena, Tinley Park and New Lenox all coming on board over the last several years. "It's one of those nights for the whole year that the community thinks of as a special event. Our concern is that they get home safely," said New Lenox Deputy Chief of Police Bob Pawlisz.
