Metra Crossing Changes: Front Street Pedestrian Crossing Removed
Metra officials have removed the Front Street pedestrian crossing. The Mokena Street pedestrian crossing is the only one available.
Metra Metropolitan Rail officials have permanently removed the Front Street pedstrian crossing at the Mokena Train Station on Front Street. If you park in the Front Street or Willowcrest Street lots, make sure to give yourself some additional time to access the downtown station’s south platform and board the train. This week, Metra is permanently removing its pedestrian platform crossing over the tracks directly between the Front Street lot and the downtown station, said Kirk Zoellner, assistant village administrator.
