Family Members Involved in Domestic Batteries: Mokena Police Blotter

A Mokena family is involved in two domestic battery incidents, just hours apart, involving a boyfriend, a daughter, a mother and an aunt. Both the boyfriend and the aunt ended their Saturday night in jail, awaiting bond hearings.

SATURDAY, Nov. 17 Joshua A. Cerrone, 21, of the 10700 block of Green Meadows Drive, was arrested on charges of domestic battery, after an incident in the 10700 block of Green Meadows Drive involving his girlfriend's mother. When police arrived on the scene, they spoke with the victim, who said that Cerrone came home with her daughter at about 4:30 a.m., and burst into the victim's bedroom. The victim said Cerrone began yelling at her, putting his hands around her throat, before they began to push and shove one another. She said Cerrone then threw her over a chair and into the kitchen wall, where they continued to argue with each other.  Cerrone said that he and his girlfriend were out celebrating his 21st birthday, when they came home and …

Dine and Dash Leads to Coke Bust: Mokena Police Blotter

Four suspects from Mokena and Frankfort were arrested after eating at Denny's and then leaving without paying. The four were later stopped by Mokena Police and two suspects were carrying cocaine.

Three Frankfort men and one Mokena man might have dodged a Denny's bill, but they couldn't avoid being charged for possession of a controlled substance later the same morning. James F. Payer, 20. of the 7300 block of W. Braemar Lane, Frankfort, and Ryan A. Smith, 19, of the 8700 block of W. St. Francis Road, Frankfort, Joesph M. Pergolizzi, 29, of the 19400 block of Cherry Street, Mokena, and Andrew J. Coules, 19, of the 7700 block of W. Kingston Drive, Frankfort, were all arrested on charges of theft under $500 following an incident at Denny's, 19099 Old La Grange Road at 2:40 a.m. on Nov. 9. Burglaries from a Business, Home and Car, Domestic Battery: Police Blotter

Mokena police reports from July 3-9

MONDAY, JULY 9 Someone broke into Southwest Pediatrics and made off with $110, employees told police. Police responded an alarm at the business at 1:51 a.m. At the scene, officers found a side window pane shattered. The money was the only thing missing, employees told police.  FRIDAY, JULY 6 Someone broke into a home and stole a television while the owners were out of town. A woman catsitting for the homeowners called police to report the break-in in the 19000 block of Regent Drive. The offender entered through a patio door, which police found shattered. Jewelry was also strewn about the home. Police secured the home and then notified the owner, who said a family member would board up the home for the timebeing.  A man flagged down …

Police Blotter: DUI, Damage to Property and Bad Checks

FRIDAY, MAY 25  Police charged John D. Gillespie, 32, of the 11000 block of Roberts Street, Mokena, with criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct after officers responded to a disturbance at the home he shares with his girlfriend. According to the police report, Gillespie's girlfriend called police because he has threatened to damage property at their home and then threatened to kill her over the telephone. When police arrived, Gillespie told officers he had two beers from a nearby gas station, but was unsure how the screening of a window and the sliding door to their apartment was damaged. Due to the damage to the property and the reported threat, police took Gillespie into custody. He was processed at the Mokena Police …

FRIDAY, APRIL 20 Nick A. Blazina, 21, of the 20200 block of Lismore Circle in Frankfort was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and tinted registration cover. Police said they spotted a hitter box in plain view after stopping Blazina’s car in the 9600 block of 195th Street around 11:30 a.m. for driving with a tinted license plate cover. A digital scale and 7.5 grams of marijuana were also confiscated from the car, according to the report. THURSDAY, APRIL 19 Gabrielle N. Overstreet, 20, of the 7700 block of Garland Court in Frankfort was charged with felony possession of cannabis. Father Slaps Young Man for Keeping Daughter Out Late: Police Blotter

SUNDAY, APRIL 15 A young Mokena man refused to press charges but filed a report nonetheless against an angry father who, according to the police, slapped him across the face. According to the report, the father was upset that the young man had left his daughter alone passed out in his car all night and then did not bring her home until 11 a.m. Mitchell D. Cunningham, 17, of the 21000 block of Tall Grass Drive in Mokena was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol. Police said they received a description of a white Hummer driving recklessly over a lawn in the 11500 block of Abbey Road around 5 a.m. and caught up with the driver as he went running into his home. Cant agree with you more especially if the girl was a minor. He should possibly have charges filed against him. Reckless endangerment, Its been cold out at night she could have suffered from hypothermia or if she was drunk possibly death from too much alcohol. Stolen Truck and Smashed Windows: Police Blotter

MONDAY, APRIL 9 A white 2002 Ford F350 truck was reported stolen from a business in the 19200 block of 85th Court sometime between 5 p.m. April 4 and 8 a.m. April 5. An employee told police that the repairs had just been made to the company vehicle and was waiting to be picked up. The rear windows of three cars were smashed between 10 p.m. April 5 and 7:30 a.m. April 6 with an unknown object, police said. Those cars were a silver 2005 Infiniti Q, silver 1993 Toyota Corolla and white 2007 Lincoln Navigator. They were all parked between the 19700 and 19900 blocks of Schoolhouse Road and no items were reported stolen. SUNDAY, MARCH 11 Police said three cars, including one SUV owned by the Village of Mokena, were damaged over the night March 10 and 11. According to the reports: THURSDAY, MARCH 8 Ronald J. Knedlik, 30, of the 7500 block of Inverness Lane in Frankfort was charged with interfering with reporting of domestic violence after turning himself over on a Mokena warrant. Police said Knedlik was arguing with a woman in the 19600 block LaGrange Road on March 1, around 4:30 p.m., when he grabbed her cell phone and the store's cordless phone and refused to let her call 911. WEDNESDAY, FEB. 29 Police said two women were arrested on drug-related charges after an officer approached their car in the 11100 block of McGovney Street around 11 p.m. and smelled marijuana. Two bags of marijuana weighing a combined 2.8 grams along with a hitter pipe were confiscated from the car, police said. The car’s owner, Amanda M.
