Bob Cummings, Neighbor

I am Bob Cummings, a 56 year old white, married, male. I have three grown children and three grandchildren. My wife Sandy and I have been married since 2005 and we live in Mokena. Sandy is a Radiological Technologist specializing in mammography.

 I have worked in public service my entire adult life as a Law Enforcement Officer, Firefighter/Paramedic, and an Operations Manager for the State of Illinois. I was involved in a major motor vehicle accident in 1987 while on duty for the State. I am permanently disabled from that incident and was finally placed on disability in 2005. Prior to my public service I served in the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam.

 After my accident I earned a Masters and Doctorate degrees in Theology/Clinical Counseling. Also since 1983 I have been an Ordained Minister of the Southern Baptist Convention and have served as Senior Pastor for several churches in the Chicago area.

My wife Sandy and I breed, train, and show Golden Retrievers. Our kennel has produced numerous personal champions in a varity of areas. We also have breed dogs that have been and are being used as Service Dogs, Therapy Dogs, Search & Rescue Dogs and more. Most important, we have breed many dogs that have become loyal pets and vital members of peoples families.

 The blogs I intend to submit will be in the form of commentaries on numerous subjects affecting spiritual, moral and political aspects of our lives. My views are Biblically based and conservative in nature.

I am new to this media of blogging and am very interested to try and make a difference in people’s lives with logical, sensible, and honest commentary on current topics.
