ReplyWow, Tom sure is full of prejudice against children who have learning disabilities. Thank God there are laws to protect children from small minded thinking like Tom's. If you want your child to play a sport or in the band that is on the parent's. Education is on everyone. I pay taxes in this community just like you Tom, so yes my child with an IEP deserves the same educational opportunities that your perfect child deserves. Your prejudice against children with IEPs is no different than saying a black child or Latino child should not be educated. That is apparently not PC, but it's PC to say those things about children who need extra support at school. Not that it's any of your business, but I did not have fertility treatments and did everything considered right in a pregnancy, but yet I had a child with learning disabilities. Shame on me by your standards. Really Tom Foolery, considering the way you think you might have gotten some benefit from an IEP.

Why call people names? I think we are all well aware she more than likely took off on her own. That does not mean she isn't in danger. Someone could have picked her up or worse. A 13 year old making a break for it doesn't know how to make good decisions obviously. That alone puts them in danger.

ReplyThe home burglary was on West Haven, not east Haven. That has been the West end of Haven ever since I have lived here. It's just a hop, skip, and a jump west of the police station. I sure hope the cops get a handle on what's going on in this town, with summer fast approaching it's not going to be good. The little angels who hang out in the commons past 10p.m. are going to ruin a good thing for the folks who like to use the commons for walking their dogs, sitting and enjoying their surroundings, etc.

I refuse to buy gas at Speedway for that very reason. To Marie, just because you can take advantage of someone doesn't mean you should. The gas stations in New Lenox have long taken advantage of the residents. Eagle Food Store did the same thing for years and years. Do you see an Eagle Food Store in town anymore? Gas City gouged people for years. Do you see any Gas City stations anymore? They went bankrupt and out of business years ago. We can only hope Speedway has the same fate.

ReplyI thought it was just to be in the Orland area, but when I heard it I assumed they had come father out this way with their training. The most bothersome part was it going well past 1a.m. It's hard to keep your kids asleep and well rested for school when that is going on all night. Since it's just training the overnight part could have been done on a Friday or Saturday night.

ReplyI could not agree more with Marie and Angel. Where was Ms. Kedzior when all the crazy undeserved raises were being given out? Her behavior at that meeting really sounds like sour grapes to me.

ReplyI don't see why 47 is a reason to celebrate. It's far from the very top. Isn't that where we would hope our local schools to be? Being in the top 10 would be reason to celebrate. Let's see where our administration's salaries rank. That is probably pretty close to the top.

Tom Foolery you are quite a piece of work. You are prejudice against kids with learning disabilities and now you want to let people die because you don't want to pay for them to be here? Am I missing something with your statements? I venture to guess if your kid or yourself were the one having their life extended with medical intervention you would have a far different outlook. What boggles my mind is what is wrong with yours. Weren't you taught compassion or empathy? Were you only taught that the almighty dollar is everything? The only thing I agree with is we have way too many administrators. That could easily be cut in half.
