Mokena Man Killed by Lightning Strike in Shelby County, IL

While on a boat fishing with friends May 26, a Mokena man was struck and killed by a bolt of lighting, Shelby County News reports.

A Memorial Day weekend outing in Shelby County turned tragic May 26 when lightning struck and killed a 29-year-old Mokena man.

Shelby County News reports that Jonathon D. Olisio was fishing with friends on a boat about 3:50 p.m. on  the Kaskaskia River near the Lake Shelbyville Dam when he was struck by a bolt of lightning.

Shelby County Coroner Brian Green pronounced Olisio dead at 4:15 p.m. on May 26.
